STATEMENT OF POSITION

Tax Help Center of America’s goal and mission is to reduce the financial burden on

Taxpayers by providing tax help to lowincome individuals, seniors, those who have English

as a Second Language, and the Central Valley in general. Tax Help Center of America

will provide help by offering Tax Resolution Services, Tax Education, and Tax Workshops/Seminars.

The Central Valley has a population of approximately 6.5 million people, from the North Sacramento Valley

down to Kern County.

Fresno is the largest city in the Central Valley, larger even than Sacramento,

California’s State Capitol.

Fresno is among the top five U.S. regions with the highest percentage of

residents living below the poverty line.

In fact, the Fresno area ranked as the 2nd most impoverished in the

nation. In 2011, 1 in 4 people in Fresno County lived below the poverty level compared to California’s 1 in 6

people living below the poverty level. In 2011, Fresno County had an unemployment rate of 16%, compared

to the rest of the state’s 12%.

Residents in the 93705 zip code, where Tax Help Center of America is located, had the 3rd lowest median

earnings per worker in 2015 ($31,246), compared to other areas in both California and the United States

($48,210 and $44,178 respectively).

The Senior median income in the 93705 zip code is $36,544 and

median income for those under 25 is $23,258.

We have approximately 13,511 earning less than the

poverty level, which is about 35% of the population. Of those living below the poverty level in our area, zip

code 93705, about 40% of those are Hispanics.

According to our market research, there is only 1 Low Income Taxpayer Clinic in the Central Valley.

This

8 lone clinic is the only nonprofit clinic we found within a 150 mile radius. Additionally, we

found less than 8 businesses (Attorneys, CPA’s, EA’s, etc) offering these same services that are actually located within the Central Valley and these are all for profit businesses.

Based on the above information, our management team feel there is a great void that Tax Help Center of America can fill.

Under Section 501 (c)(3) the word “charitable” is defined as “providing services beneficial tothe public interest”. As such, Tax Help Center of America will operate as a NonProfit organization based on the following services that we will be able to provide to the public:

Relieving the impoverished, distressed, or underprivileged

Providing services to older Americans and those who have English as a Second Language

Advancing the education of taxpayers

Lessening the burdens of government
